- Our tournaments will follow a Round Robin format. Absolute Divisions will follow Single Elimination format. The competitors that continue in the Winners Bracket who make it to the Championship Round in the Absolute division will be competing for 1st and 2nd place.
- Some competitors when you lose a match you will be inserted into the Consolation Bracket to compete for 3rd place in the Absolute Division. If there are no other competitors registered in your division you may be placed in another division in order for you to participate. Team Points will not be awarded for divisions with 1 competitor. We reserve the right to either subdivide or combine divisions, weight classes, or age classes the day of the event depending on the turnout.
- Each Competitor will be allowed to register in ONE DIVISION ONLY.
- All competitors must weigh-in. There is NO weight allowance at weigh-ins.
- Each competitor must submit an on-line registration form, sign the electronic waiver, and pay the entry fee.
- If the match is tied at the end of regulation the referee will decide the winner based on advantage points. If advantage points are tied then decision will go to competitor with the first takedown.
- All competitors must wear a Gi with a standard collar size and thickness.
- All competitors must wear a CLEAN and a SOLID colored Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu GI (Kimono), either ALL WHITE, ALL BLUE, or ALL BLACK in color. Women may also wear ALL PINK. No mixing of colors. Example; white pants and blue top or blue pants and white top, etc… will NOT be allowed. Competitors will compete with regulation GIs only. A regulation GI is four fingers cuff clearance and sleeves are to be no shorter than 4” from wrist between wrist and sleeve of GI.
- All male competitors are not allowed to wear clothing underneath the GI such as T-Shirts, Rash Guard, Sweatpants, etc. Also, wrestling shoes are NOT allowed.
- We will do our best to pair up Kids according to weight and age no more than 2 years apart. For example ages groups may be (6 & 7) (8 & 9) (10 & 11) (12 & 13) (14 & 15). We will do our best to not mix girl and boy competitors, but it may be nescesary. Kids need to be registered according to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Belt rankings (White, Yellow, Orange, Green). Karate or Tae Kwon Do belt rankings may be the same color, but are not equivalent to the skill level as jiu-jitsu. Consult your Jiu-Jitsu instructor before registering your child to avoid your child being entered into the wrong division.
- We reserve the right to refuse service.
- We reserve the right to close the tournament registration at any time in order to benefit our event organization.
- We reserve the right to change the date and/or location of the tournament.
- All competitors are required to wear mouth protection.
Age Divisions:
- Kids ages 6 – 15 (male and female)
- Juniors ages 16 -17 (male and female)
- Adults Men ages 18 – 30
- Masters Men ages 31 – 40
- Seniors Men ages 41 and 49
- Executive Men ages 50 and up
- Adults Female ages 18 – 30
- Masters Female ages 31 – 40
- Seniors Female ages 41 and 49
- Executive Female ages 50 and up
Weight Classes:
You will be paired in a group of competitors based on Rank, Weight and Age for Round Robin Competition.
Competitors:
1st, 2nd, 3rd place will receive medals and score team points
Team:
The top 3 Adult Teams and top 3 Kid’s Teams will be presented a team award.
Note: Teams are based upon the information provided on the registration forms. It is your responsibility to make sure you correctly put your Team/School name on your registration form.

Penalties:
Stalling: Holding or running away from the fight, or holding both sleeves with a closed guard (more than 30 seconds.)
- 1st incident – warning
- 2nd incident – 2 points to your opponent
- 3rd incident – disqualificatiom
Taking down your opponent and running away from the fight on the ground
- 1st incident – warning
- 2nd incident – 2 points to your opponent
- 3rd incident – disqualification
The following will result in immediate disqualification:
Picking up your opponent while on the ground and slamming them
Applying illegal techniques
Unsportsmanlike conduct against the other competitor, referee, coach, or public
Arguing with the referee (all disputes must be taken to the head table)
Fleeing the mat to avoid submission
